You’ve found me- The Shady Lady!

I’ve been in the paint & decorating business for over 25 years and have been the Shady Lady since 1999.
I am a Certified Professional Dealer with Hunter Douglas.
I have a California Contractor's License # 772848 and I'm bonded and insured. I consult with homeowners, architects, builders and property managers for their entire window covering needs. I also do color and paint specifications. Chances are you've seen my work on one of your neighborhood homes or businesses.
I thoroughly enjoy what I do! I have met some wonderful people while consulting on custom decorating jobs! It's been a great adventure!

There are so many wonderful choices available for window coverings these days. I pride myself in finding the right window coverings for my clients. The options might seem overwhelming, but a trip to the showroom can help and really save you some time! I guarantee you’ll see some new ideas for window fashions. Hi, I’m Bob Johnson, I have been selling and installing window coverings since 1983 when my family purchased a small paint store in Arcata that had a window covering department. That little store later evolved into the Arcata Color Center. We sold that business in 2008 and after a brief rest I joined Susan fulltime at Shady Lady.
Fortunately, all of the things that I miss about my old business are part of my new routine here in our new Gallery showroom. I love working with customers, coming up with solutions and exceeding their expectations.
Early in 2010, I attained Master Installer status with HunterDouglas. This has opened new avenues for me installing and caring for my customer’s window coverings.
I am also available to consult with you about your painting projects. This includes helping you visualize color combinations as well as making paint specifications for you or your painting contractor.
Mostly I am proud to work alongside my wife in a great community. We enjoy sharing our product knowledge and years of experience with our customers. In this era of large corporate business, we love providing an alternative where the owners of the company are personally involved with your project and depend on your happiness.

Hey there, I’m Kitty Weber and I am so excited to be a part of the Shady Lady family!
I have eye for design and several years of customer service experience under my belt.
In 2009 I received a BA in Mass Communication, emphasizing in Graphic Design; making a visual statement was a key part of my education at Idaho State University. I have a passion for good design and I can’t wait to help our customers face their window covering challenges!
