Meet The Designer...Susan Johnson |
|
You've found me! The one and only Shady Lady! My real name is Susan Johnson. I've been working in design for over 24 years. I'll be brief on my history...you can always ask me more about what I've been doing lately when we meet in person.
I started out on this design track after my husband & I bought a little paint store in Arcata(www.arcatacolorcenter.com). We had both studied business in college and thought owning our own store would be a great opportunity. We worked together for many years helping our customers with color and design choices. (I still pop into the store and work once in a while, so you may have seen me there.) I loved my customers at the paint store, but many of them needed more guidance, so I started outside consulting. Bob & I decided that I should take the original, tiny window covering department at the paint store with me when I left to do the consulting. Consulting on different projects leads me to some really wonderful people and great job sites! It's been a great adventure!
I have a California Contractor's License and I'm bonded and insured. I consult with homeowners, architects and builders for color and paint specifications. Chances are you've seen my paint color choices on one of your neighborhood homes or businesses.
Of course, my consulting business needed a name...Bob actually thought of the business name and I've been the Shady Lady for over 7 years now. I thoroughly enjoy what I do! There are so many wonderful choices available for window coverings these days. I pride myself in finding the right window coverings for my clients. There are so many different reasons you need to cover your windows! Maybe for privacy or maybe to control the sunlight so the couch doesn't fade...or maybe to block out the view to the neighbors chicken coop! Tell me your troubles! Together we'll cover those windows!
I'm available for Showroom appointments and In-home appointments. Pick a time that's good for you and we'll get started on that next project.
